The Ironworks presents Future Islands

By Reporter, The HighLand Times, Sunday December 17 2017

Tuesday 12 June 2018 @ The Ironworks, Inverness.

The Ironworks are delighted to be hosting American synthpop band Future Islands, as they perform in the Highlands for the first time.

The years since the release of Singles have been transformative for Future Islands, catapulting the Baltimore-based band from cult favourites to synthpop icons.

As addictive songs like breakout Seasons (Waiting on You) turned the world on to sublime pleasures a loyal fan base already knew, this hard-touring band ploughed forward, playing their 1,000th show in July 2015 and celebrating their 10th anniversary in February 2016.

The band show no signs of slowing down as this year alone they've played Coachella, 6 Music Festival and Glasgow's iconic Barrowlands.

Now Future Islands returns at the top of their game with new album The Far Field, delivering twelve chest – pounding love songs and odes to the road as only they can.

Caroline Campbell, Director of Ironworks, said:

“We're really excited to have Future Islands perform on the Ironworks' stage -  they've got a great energy.

“It's always amazing to be able to host such prominent artists in the Highlands.”

Brought to the Ironworks with PCL Presents, Future Islands will be performing on Tuesday 12 June 2018.

Tickets go on pre-sale on Friday 15 December and general sale Monday 18 December.

Ticket price: £20.00 +bf
